I got the shaft!
Ivw only owned my 1980 30 for 3 weeks but i think my shaft is a bronze alloy or some such thing. Cause it is definatly not stainless. But If you wanted a shaft of stainless I am positive you could use the new bern phone book and find a stainless fabricator Who would make you one. I work with stainless fabricators occasionally and they can make you anything if the price is right. As an aside High quality barbells are often 1"-1,1/4" stock and can be turned down to your specs. I have two in my shop both 1" diameter and over 7' in length. But for simplicities sake I would try catalina or catalina direct for price comparisons first. Well good luck and happy trails.
