Replacement Pulpits

Ok so it finally happened. One of my docking lines busted leaving my pulpit to get into a fight with the dock. The dock won; leaving the pulpit hanging on just by one out of its three bases. So where do I go to get a replacement. The pulpit is what I would consider bent beyond repair. Are there any upgrades/modifications to the original Hunter design? Also, I now have a bent stansion. Any ideas? Have you ever had to retie a boat with no lifelines, a 20knt wind, and 3-4 feet seas? Yeah I know my pier has no protection from the wind or waves but, the boat soon will be moved to the protected waters of Little Sabine Bay(my backyard). As always thanks for the dedicated people who keep this site going.

In 1996, I bought a stern rail from SOUTHCOAST MARINE PRODUCTS (813-573-4821) in Clearwater, Fl. They had the dimensions for a H23 and it was somewhat easy to install (down under the cockpit). Perhaps they can help (assuming they are still in business).

H 23 bow pulpit

I would suggest not using the lifelines, pulpit or stansions to tie up your boat. These are not designed for this purpose. Using them to tie up will also loosen them from the deck and create leaks.I do use them for bumpers. Use the eye on the bow of the boat, and the cleats on the stern. I also installed cleats for the bow. I was lucky to find the aluminum or steel plates inside the fiberglass. This may save you on your next set. Good Luck
