FYI.........I recently broke the plexiglas sliding hatch cover on my 23. Don't ask how. Anyway I was very happy to find a replacement from a very accomodating (sp?)company in Florida that cut one for me to precise size for a very reasonable price. It even seems a might stouter than the original. Call Teak Isle at 407-656-8885.

Lexan Hatch

On my 23 "WindSong",which sunk during the hurricanes, the sliding hatch was made of Lexan. Much stronger than plexiglass and much more scratch resistant. Problem with lexan is the price. Double, if not triple the price of plexiglass. GOOD LUCK Dave Laing

I called Hunter first as well as the HOW chandlery. No go. But Hunter referred me to Teak Isle.

Lexan more expensive than plexiglass?

I just replaced the main hatch on my H23 with a brand new piece of smoked Lexan. Total cost? $90. I saw somewhere that a plexiglass hatch would cost about twice that amount. Wow. Maybe it's because I bought it at a plastic fabricator's shop and I DID have to drill the screw holes myself, but they cut it to the exact size and even buffed the cut edges at no additional charge. Regardless of who sells it, plastic is plastic, so shop around before you call the marine stores. Peter H23 "Raven"
