I have a 1994 Hunter 26. Forgive me if I don't know the proper term, but there is a large pin used to secure the boom to the mast. Mine is now at the bottom of the lake so I need a new one. Where do I get one?

Hire a diver???

It's just a fairly standard clevis pin which you can get from a decent rigging shop or even the local marine store, but sometimes thats not so easy. Mine was missing for a while so I made one up from a 3/8" bolt and nylon locking nut. I cut down the threaded end just so It wouldn't be in the way and it works just fine. Eliminates the cotter pin hassle.

My pin inserts from the bottom up. There is a hole through the end of the pin where the main sheet attaches. So, I cannot use just a bolt.

The gooseneck on my Hunter 260 is essentially the same as that in the picture in john's post. A picture of what you have would help a lot. Still sounds like a clevis pin.

I will post a picture when I can get out to the boat this weekend. Mine is different than John's post.

Diagram of Hunter boom

I found the original specs for the boom gooseneck. Attached is a copy of the diagram, but it does not have dimensions. I have circled the pin I am referring to that I lost. I called the manufacturer but their number is disconnected.

As I recall your spars are Z-spar. If Hunter can't help you, which would not surprise me, you should be able to get Z spar parts from Rig-Rite. You might also try www.usspars.com.

The gooseneck you show for the 26 is much more complicated than what is used on the 260. Simple answer? You want to go sailing? Find yourself a long 8 mm or 10 mm stainless bolt, or maybe 3/8", drop it in place and go sailing!

looks like it may be an Isomat mast.
Parts diagram looks similar to items found here listed under gooseneck brackets and hardware.:

http://rigrite.com/Spars/Isomat_Spars/Isomat_Masts/NG31_mast.html#Gooseneck Brackets and Hardware

Specs say - NG1/NB1 Gooseneck/Vang Vertical Toggle Pin: NB1-1:
SS Clevis pin is 12mm (7/16") diameter with a 85mm (3 3/8") grip length, and has 8mm (5/16") hole for Cotter Ring or Block attachment. Fits vertically in NG1-11 Gooseneck/Vang Bracket.

Could buy Direct from Rigrite - I have purchased from them in the past. - expensive but reliable.
