I need to replace my transducer on my 83 34', I've seen other makes of boats make it possible, without sinking, to accomplish this in the water. I not willing to take the chance. Does anyone out there have any ideas from passed experiences that would help me?

Since you are not willing to do it yourself let the repair shop do it or else you will have to wait to haul out. It is not a bad job you will get a little wet but very doable in the water

A better one!

Heck, I know a guy that put a brand new one in with the boat in the water. Drilled it from inside, used calk that cures underwater, and stuck the sucker in from under the hull underwater. If he can do that, you can do yours. Pull yours out and shove in the new one in one motion. If there is a safety pin hole, pull the pin out and tape the side holes.
