I have to replace my rotted H26 trailer bunk boards and keel support boards. My trailer had 1"x8"x12 feet boards for the bunks and 1"x8"x8 feet boards for the keel support. In the Sailboat Owners archives, most folks with other brands of boats seem to have used 2"x8" replacements instead of 1"x8" boards. After looking in the archives of several photos of H26 and H260 trailer mods, it looks like most H26/H260 bunks have 1"x8"'s and the bunks seemed to bend to fit the contour of the boat hull. My question: Is there a functional reason to use 1"x 8" bunk boards for an H26 trailer or could I use more durable, but less flexible 2"x8" boards? Thanks, BrianW

H260 with Magic tilt trailer (2004)

My bunk boards are original 2"x8"x12'pressure treated lumber. They fit the hull curve. I've never seen 1'x8" up here on the Magic Tilt's for H260's.

Thanks Wally -2"x8"'s It Is

Thanks for your confirmation on the correct size. I took a closer look at the archives photos and they are definitely 2"8" boards. My mistake. The previous owner of my trailer used 1"x8"'s for the bunks. I'll replace with pressure treated 2"x8" boards. BrianW
