Same here, I need cushions for a 1987 28.5

I also just purchased a 1987 Hunter 28.5 with ruined cushions (or at least the fabric is ruined, perhaps the foam inserts can be cleaned somehow?). I have been searching everywhere and cannot find a place online to purchase replacement interior upholstery or at least new fabric cut for my existing foam. Any assistance, including website or phone number details, is greatly appreciated!

bring it to your local upholstry shop.....

and they will take care of you. When i bought my H22 the interior fabric was moldy, i thought that they were gone beyond repair, was i wrong. The foam was fine, so all i need was new fabric. 500 bucks later and they look and fit like new!!!!

Ran an article in the Jan/Feb issue, this year on doing your own boat cushions. Lots off good, simple tips. U.S. Yacht Cushions in Florida could well have made your OEM cushions. If so, they have the patterns and will make you new sets for a reasonable price. Their number is in the Archives, numerous times (I don't have it handy).

Recovering my own 28.5 cushions

I'm in the process of recovering my own cushions. I ordered a couple of new pieces of foam from a local foam supplier and bought the fabric at wal mart. I hope it turns out well! Three 4 cushions are done so far. Mike

US Yacht Cushions 727/322-5352 Excellent Quality, good service, reasonable prices. Most upholstery shops do not know much about building cushions for boats. Ask them about building a cushion for seating vs a cushion for sleeping. You don't want fabric on surfaces where there is fiberglass (mold and mildew) you should use vinyl. Proper type of zippers etc.
