Anyone with a replacement mast that failed in a short period of time? The oroginal mast stood for 8 years when the mooring area was hit with 60 mph + winds. Another boat broke loose from its mooring & tangled alongside our boat & took the rig down. The replacement mast bought from Catalina didn't make it a year. It never could be rigged properly & it insisted on post bending every chance it could. Even after trying Catalina's recomendations shimming the rear of the mast butt & keeping the lowers under recomended tension the mast would post bend on the plug. The original mast was .025 thicker wall than the replacement. The replacement was .006 under design. I am looking for yet another tube but don't want the same problems repeated. Anyone with experiance / recomendations?
