The lifelines on our 1982 Cat 27 need to be replaced. What is the least expensive way to go about this? We are in the San Francisco Bay area. Thanks, Larry & Linda

But First - No Cost

I purchased an extra clean 87 last year. The exception was the lifelines. Noting that many manufacturers no longer put on vinel coating lifelines, I thought of striping the offending white/rust lines to see what condition the steel was in. It was great! The 27 has oversized satety lines as compaired with others, and striping, cleaning, and waxing tured an embarasment into a new fresh look and has the added advantage of being able to see the condition of the wire. Your 82 may be gone. If so, consider replacing with bare wire. No problems for crusing or racing. Great modern look! If your lucky, just strip, clean, wax, and admire.
