Replacement bow eye bolt

The eye bolt of my O Day 22 broke off when we pulled it out of the water last year, and now I need to replace it. Does anyone kow where I can find a replacement, and if there is a bracket behind the bow that supports this device?

This eye bolt connects to the trailer winch strap.

I tried to tighten mine last year as it was loose. I found that the wood behind it had softened. I was able to create a new piece of wood backing on my table saw, seal it and tighten it without a problem. Stainless steel eye bolts should be available at many marine or hardware stores.

i just replaced mine as it was bent. the block of solid wood i had in there was split, so i used a piece of plywood so it would be less likely to split again. make sure you chauk it well as my oday 20 will get water into the v berth while on the mooring if not.

i orginally was going to replace it with a two bolt bow eye as mine tended to twist alittle and loosen the chaulk. luckily, i dry fitted it before drilling the second hole as the bolts were not as long and didn't come through far enough for the nut to get started. i ended up using another single bolt.

Thanks for the quick response, sounds like I should simply replace with the same type. I was thinking of using a 2 bolt bow eye as well.

if you can find a two bolt it would probably be better, but i wasn't able to find one with the same length bolts as the single bolt i was replacing.
