re: seat back cushions
Recommend that you forget replacing the back cushions. Take the velcro fasteners off the boat and clean up the surface they were adhered to. Then buy a couple of Sportaseats. Got them at West Marine. The seat uses sunbrella cloth over a chair frame that works like a chaselounge. They are a bit pricey. Probably $80 apiece, but worth it. They provide both a cushion for your butt and a high back that can be set at several different angles. One cautionary caveat though.. it is very easy to go to sleep at the tiller when you turn the sportaseat parallel to boat seat and set the angle so that you are almost reclining with your feet propped up on the bench seat. Warm 12 knot breeze, sunshine, waves slapping the bow ...my kind of lazy sailing. Since I bought the seats,I can stay out much longer without my butt getting sore and lower back starting to ache. Sunbrella cloth wears like iron. Have used the seats often for 4 seasons now and the non skid surface on the boat has yet to even mark the underside of the seat. I give them my highest recommendation.Cheers!Bruces/v Cherokee Lullaby
