Got a new tack from Defender $130.00 and not the $400.00 one from Yanmar,sorry Yanmar but way too crazy for the VDO tack that you wanted $400.00.
And it works great and just moved the wires around on Plug,I did have to use silicon to help it fit but tested it out today while sailing and motoring and looks great,it's 4000 and not the 5000 rpm's and hour meter it has works fine and wiring is different but the whole panel is made by VDO and was easy to calibrat.

Nick, I might need your help with my new tack. Mine has been acting up so I bought a new VDO tack but the wiring is different. I have not yet tried to figure out the wiring.

Did you get wiring info with new tach and does your old tach use a plug,not hard to do just need to see what wires do with a volt meter when key is on and how many wires does the old tach have.
I leave for vacation tomorrow for a week,I can come to your boat when I come back .

I need to replace my tach also. Does your tach use a signal from the alternator or from a sending unit on the engine block/bell housing? What model did you get. Thanks for the great alternative.
