For the cost of a small block it is probably faster and easier to replace the block with new.

For larger more expensive blocks Schaeffer will rehab them for a fee.

Drill the smashed part of the rivet axle then drive it out using a support that can let the axle push out.. Replace the axle with a stainless bolt and nut.. The bolt should not stick out past the nut.. Carefully done, you'll have a great result.

What Kloudie1 said. I used that method on my Lewmar Cheek blocks. The replacement axle was a clevis pin. Since the block mounts to a flat surface the pin won't fall out. Easy to service the next time.

Thank you all; yes i was not sure what to replace de “axel” with. But the consensus is to use ss bolt. Simple! I like it.
I did not want to replace because i still have not found the replacents and i do not want to replace fir different ones having to seal and reopen holes in the deck.

Blow the rivet, find the proper size sheave and use a bolt and 2 nuts(counter tighten) to secure.

A lot easier and simpler to use the nylon lock nuts. Then you don't over tighten it.
