Repair of Adler Barbour Control Unit

I had a problem where my Adler Barbour Cold Machine would not start. The folks at Adler Barbour technical support after asking me a number of questions determined that the control unit was not working properly. They also determined that based upon the age of the unit, which is in a 88 Legend 37, that the control unit could be repaired. They directed me to Miller Marine in Jacksonville, FL. 984-388-3690, the only company in the US that does repair the units. I did send the control unit to them and within a week, like yesterday, they called and told me the unit was repaired at a cost of $75.00. They expedited the repair since I was going on vacation in two weeks. My hats off to Adler Barbour for their recommendation, they could have sold me a new control unit and I would never had known that it could have been repaired, and to Miller Marine for their quick and professional service.The first beer cooled for me from my cold machine will be consumed with both Adler Barbour and Miller Marine in mind.

This is always an option for those with older style control modules. Al or Linda at Miller Marine can assist you in determining which types are reparible. I believe the rule of thumb is if the cooling fins run straight up and down, it is repairablr.This is an economical way to get more life out of a system before it is time to replace it.The phone number is 904-388-3690.
