Not too sure if the original oven was a beige that turned yellow over the years or not. The original paint was chipped and the oven exterior had a few pits. The interior was like new so going to assume it was rarely used. We pulled the oven out and sanded it down to the bare metal. Sprayed several coats of gloss stove paint on it. The new paint has adhered well and now going into it's 3rd year. We did need to replace the stove with a new unit. The gloss black seems to give it a more current look. Be prepared to do some cleaning to the oven well when you pull the oven out.

Oven removel

It was simple for me, as I only watched! Open the sliding latch on the bottom of the oven. This is the latch that secures the oven from swinging. Remove the stove top, simply to reduce the weight you will be lifting. The oven sits on pivot arms which slide onto the gimbal side plates. Simply loosen the screw heads holding this. Lift unit up and out. The unit is heavy. For those looking for manuals or replacement parts for this unit you might find further info at Swego.com, they offer free downloadable manuals. Have included a pix of the oven well after it was cleaned.
