I'm trying to figure out an economical way to trailer a (1981)25' O'day Centerboard model from Wareham Massachusetts to Salem Massachusetts. A travel lift will be used to load & unload the boat. Time frame is Spring,2001 (after your boat is in the water of course). Would you be willing to rent your trailer for a day?????? Sincerely, Rick Leger (sailor who's stepping up and on a budget). P.S.-my other option is to sail her up the coast......I'm trying to avoid this if possible, I'm not yet comfortable with an initial 2-3 day cruise on a new boat. RLeger@gis.net

oday trailer

rick,,regarding a trailer to move your boat next spring, my neighbor moved his oday 25 center board from lake champlain to somewhere on cape cod a couple of months ago. It has a custom trailer made for the boat, I can find out more info if you want. I have a 25 with keeland tall rig. I love the boat, its very fast and well balanced. This is my first venture on the net, i just got this computer and am still learning the ins and outs, so bear with me.

Response to Phil re: friends trailer.

Phil, thank you for the message regarding your friends trailer for his O'day 25 C.B. model. Since submitting my question, I found another O'day 25 to purchase (not a done deal yet though)located in the harbor we will be keeping her. If possible, I would still like to check out renting your friends trailer just in case a land haul was necessary. Thanks, Rick

fin keel vs CB

Rick, I will get the info on availability of the trailer and post it in this forum. For your info my neighbor and I have identical boats except mine has a fin keel and the tall rig. I am far from an expert on sailing but my boat literally sails circles around the CB boat. My boat is much faster and points much better also it is solid in rough water and doesn't bounce around like the CB boat. You may want to look into a keel boat instead of the CB.i
