By the way: Since I missed the Rendezvous, could someone let me know
what happened and share some photos so I can publish a report in the
newsletter and on the web site?

Thanks,

Chuck,
I made in new album in "Picasa" just recently. Here is the link:
I also sent the link to your AVA email address. If you want a cd with
all the original pics, let me know.

Port Townsend is a neat place! We're headed over there on a 'round'
cruise, probably blow in on Wednesday afternoon. Hope to get a spot
at Point Hudson, if not we'll try Boat Haven. I'd happily buy you a
brew (or two) for some sea stories :)

Peter,
We'll look forward to seeing you when you get here. We are
temporarily in slip A85 at the Boat Haven. Will find out Monday if we
must haul out or if other arrangements can be made to effect the
needed repairs. We are finding that PT is indeed a neat place. The
PT Brewery is just a few steps from the marina and boatyard as are
other important amenities. We'll write up a full report on this and
the other places we visit in the course of our travels. Meanwhile,
laundry, grocery shopping boat cleanup, exploring the immediate area
etc. are the order of the day. I also have a newsletter to get out.

As for the photos, a CD would be best if you can manage it. Bring it
with you if possible.

Aloha,

HI Chuck,
As always the rendezvous was lots of good fun. We gathered at Fisherman's Bay on Friday
night, and it promptly began to pour rain. Needing no further incentive we retired to the
bar for dinner and drinks all around. The weather cleared on Saturday and it was beautiful
for the rest of the weekend. Saturday night's potluck, in true Vegatarian style was lots of
fabulous food, good laughs and libation.

Attendees were:
Mitzie & Bear, who didn't bring City Zoo this year
Jim and Gloria with Wren
Brian and Diana with Putachiside (sp??)
Ken and Judy with Aqavite
us, Sheila and Howard with Shiva
Peter and Ula with Sin Tacha

Linda and Terry came a second time with their trawler, and Terry once again entertained
us by strolling with his accordian.

A very nice couple from Montana came and camped on the hill. I think his name was Don
and her's Lisa, but I don't have any other information on them...can someone fill in the
blanks? They have a Vega back in Montana that they are fix up with the idea of cruising in
Mexico.

Saturday night just as we were preparing to eat, we saw a Vega sail in and got all exciting,
thinking it was Laura and Chuck. It turned out to be Austin McHugh, his wife and two
great kids. They are living on their Vega in Bellingham while house hunting. The name of
their boat????

Saturday included Tinker-ing about, a walk to the Lopez Farmer's Market, coffee & baked
goods from Holly B's, and assorting faffing about.

We left Fisherman's Bay on a falling tide. We followed Brian and Diana out, and scraped
bottom a couple times in the channel, but Brian and Diana decided to stay in the channel a
while...at least until the tide turned and freed them off.

I'm sure there's more. Perhaps others will fill in the blanks.

Hi All UK Solent Sailors

Dont forget the Vega Solent Rally at the end of thsi month.

Starts off at Haslar Marina (Portsmouth) on Friday 24th evening for
drinks, chatting and food in the Lightship. Food is optional, bought at
the bar. We will be hoping for a berthing discount. Each member is
liable for their own berthing fee at Haslar Marina.

The race will be great fun. There is the serious side for the Vega
Solent Cup where real racing rules apply. There is also a "Guess your
time" Race where you hand your estimated time in prior to the race
starting, every minute you are away from your guess is a point deducted.
No cheating and sailing slow, race to your potential and ability!!
Everyone bring a prize so we have a great list of winners.....

Saturday 25th we have friendly race (Usually about 12 miles) from
Gilcker Point, Bembridge ledge, Sub Barrier. Back into Fareham for free
mooring, BBQ, drinks, American Supper (All bring bits to share), Fareham
Sailing Club is open, cheap beer, handing out of prizes (loads) and more
chat. Remember to bring BBQ stuff etc. There is a supermarket close by
and I will have transport if needed.

Sunday we sail in company so we can all take photos of each others'
Vega. then back home. Mooring will be free at Afreham on Saturday and
Sunday night if you wish. Pontoon mooring with water and power
available.

Please let me know who will be attending asap
