I am looking at buying a 1981 27, it has a Renault 8 hp Diesel. Are there parts avail for this? Where? The owner was buying parts from Mermaid, but their web page disappeared, are they out of business? Is there anything particular I should check on the hull or rigging?Lee@htva.net

Texas supplier?

Lee, if you search the "Forum Archives" for "Renault" you will get several hits. Somewhere in there is reference to a parts supplier in Texas. Don't know if Man Diesel in Seabrook is the same one or not(http://www.mandiesel.com/). If you call them they should know who the supplier is.

George in San Leon, TX, is not supposed to still be in business. Mermaid Northeast, 978-281-7876, still has a telephone answering machine message, I will post if I hear from them.
