I just bought a 1979 hunter 27 with a Renault 8 hp diesel. I found a recent article about how to change the fuel filters helpful and was wondering where I could get a manual or if someone could advise the recommended grade of oil and frequency it should be changed.

once a year

I have a manual for the Renault, including the service manual, which thankfully I have never had to use. The previous owner of my boat recommended that the oil be changed once a year and the transmission oil changed every 3 years. Both take 10W30 weight oil.

Renault Exhaust/Parts

Has anyone had any luck in finding sources for Renaults. My exhaust pipe just developed a hole. It is the pipe where water is injected into the exhaulst. Looks like one will have to be fabricated. Any advice?

Exhaust hose

Volvo makes a 2 2/3 exhaust hose that is the correct size,if that would work. I have given up on the parts situation and plan to make the very expensive leap of getting a new diesel. I plan to keep my 27 (80) Hunter for a very long time, so I think it will be worth it.
