Renaming a boat in Maryland

We bought our Hunter six weeks ago and want to change the name. For a non-documented vessel in Maryland what official actions are necessary. Does the DNR need to be informed of the name change? Is it just a matter of removing the old name and applying the new name?

There is no "official" collection of undocumented boat's names by the state of Maryland. They don't care what you name it as long as your registration numbers are applied correctly and your sticker is up-to-date.

It might be beneficial to inform your insurance carrier of any name change, however.
