Catalina 380 Detroit
My Catalina is actually a 380. I am trying to remove the prop, probably for the 1st time. Its a 1997. Besides a puller and hammering with a drift, does anyone have any suggestions?
Your input will be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Transmissions don't like hammering on the shaft. Any boat yard will have a puller you can use, rent, pay to watch somebody else use.

Place a good puller on the prop hub and tighten as much as possible. Pour heat into the hub quickly using a small rented oxy-acetylene torch. Avoid heating the shaft as much as possible. With a lot of cursing and swearing :cussing:, it should POP off.

As Don said, transmissions loath hammering on the shaft or prop.
