What is everyone's preferred method for removing the adhesive/foam that's holding the wallpaper to the hull?

I just pulled the burlap fabric off and used a plastic scraper to remove the majority of dried glue . Once most of it was off ,I left my shop vac in the cockpit and brought the hose down inside. I ended up using a fairly stuff metal brush to remove the last of the dried glue.. It actually came off fairly easily The shop vac kept the mess to a minimum.

Thanks for the info Timm. I have a 25' hose and a wireless remote to turn my yard vacuum on and off. Great little setup. Anyways, what did you use to glue the new material on the wall?

I chose a water based adhesive . There were no fumes at all when I was applying it . There was also no lingering smell . After more than 13 years it has held up very well .I layed a light blue outdoor carpet over the inner hull to add some noise and heat insulation. as you are already quite aware ,it takes Lake Michigan quite some time to warm up.

Thanks Timm! Let me know when you've launched. I'd love to check out your boat and MKE isn't too far

I've got to replace a piece on the inside of my hanging locker and would be curious to know about what outdoor carpeting you used. I was thinking I'd just paint it w/ Easy-Poxy.

There are a number of very good outdoor carpet brans that would work well. When I chose to redo the hanging locker ,I went with aromatic cedar planking. It was very easy to install . It looks great ,keeps moisture at bay ,is repellant to moths and smells awesome

I should have been more specific . Cedar does well in high humidity situations .With other woods mold would occasionally appear ,even with fans . I hope this clarifies .Cedar rates at 18 to 23 percent moisture content, compared to the average softwood, which has 25 to 30 percent moisture content. The moisture in wood is a major conductor of decay. Wood with a higher moisture content will absorb water more readily and hold it longer, breaking down the fibers and promoting rot.

Timm R, I'm probably running into a time constraint with all of the other things I have to do, but I am curious as to -

1. What width boards you used.
2. How you attached them to a compound curved surface.
