hi how do you remove the prop for cleaning and how is it best to clean?
what would you put on the prop - antifouling or leave polished. its a standard beneteau two blade prop

Assuming it is a regular bronze fixed prop, I'd leave it on the boat to clean it. Use a brass wire brush. After cleaning, many people leave it plain, but you could spray on a zinc paint coating if you wish. Do not use regular bottom paint; it will not last.

Like Paul said leave it on to clean it. I finish up with some fine grit sand paper to give a polished look then smear lanolin all over it. The lanolin makes it difficult for the barnacles to get a grip on the prop. While the hub seemed to accumulate a few the blades stayed relatively clean.
