If you need to ask how to remove a starter, you really need some knowledge of basic mechanics, and a manual on THAT engine. Whatever you do, please disconnect the battery before doing anything.
No one rebuilds solenoids, they are not rebuildable. You replace them. Knowledgeable mechanics would never replace one without also disassembling the starter to make sure its not part of the problem. If you install electrical parts, they are not returnable. If you install the solenoid and still have starter problems, you just threw money away on the solenoid. And because labor is higher than parts costs, its cheaper to just put a whole new starter in right from the beginning. Not having a mechanical background or knowledge about these things, it would be wiser (and cheaper) in your case, to order a complete rebuilt starter from a reputable source, and replace the whole thing.

This is good advise. If you have to ask how to take out a starter I would really sugest that you get someone else to do the job and you can watch and learn. Its not a hard job to do , but you can really screw it up if you don't know waht your doing....
If your symptom is hard starting with no clicks, it could be as simple as an electrical connection (is there a fuse in the wire from the start button to the solenoid?). Before you spend $$ on something that sounds suspiciously like someone's trying to rip you off, you might want to talk to some more people and take the advice offered here.
REmoving a starter is not rocket science and not that hard, unless it is hard to get to. Turning off the electricity to it is good advice. The starter itself only has a few bolts connecting it to the engine. Then you have to disconnect the wires, but before you do that, take a picture of it with your phone camera, or jot down where each wire attaches so you get it right when you put it back in. If you think your starter selenoid isn't working, you can cross the terminals with a screwdriver to see if the engine turns over. If so, then your selenoid probably is shot.
I would definitely check your wire harness first. It's a fairly common problem with folks at my dock and myself. There are two connectors, one at the starter and one at the panel. Pull the connections and spray some contact cleaner on the terminals. If you lucky, it will start right up.
