Removing Stanchions

I have a Cal 28 and it has stanchions and other deck mounted hardware that is very hard to remove because you can't reach the screws easily. Is there some special tools or wrench that is made to make this easier? http://www.traveloutward.com

Small ratchet set

Ace Hardware sells a small ratchet set that includes screwdriver plugs, thus providing a way to access the screws sideways.
