Hi - I'm new to the group. We're partners in a 40.5 and it's at the boatyard for some deck/blister repairs. The Hunter logo on the side of the boat is in rough shape. We're planning on doing a little cosmetic work on the boat while it's out of the water. Is there a simple/safe way to remove and replace the logo. (I assume it's a vinyl sticker of some nature). Thanks, Karen

You certainly wont want to do this at this time of year. When the temps rise I would use a heat gun and slowly apply heat as you peel the plastic logo off. Take your time and peel slowly using two hands to pull spreading the pull load over as much area as possible.

Thanks, thought that would be the method. Since it's many pieces, not one big logo, it's probably going to be a pain to remove it completely. (It's in the shed right now for the other repairs, so it's pretty warm).

Removing Logo

If the "sticker" is a vinyl material you can try using just heast from a heat gun providing that the material is not too old. If it is old just use standard gel paint remover and follow the precautions on the can's label

3M makes your tool

3m makes a rubber eraser.you can use in any temperature.it is mounted on an attachment that can be inserted into a drill.do not press down too hard when using.use only enough pressure to remove the stripe.it can be purchased at any automotive paint store.it may not be to cheap.but if you do press to hard it will do the whole job easily.
