Hi all, greetings from the UK.

I recently read a thread on here where a guy had worked hard to remove all the old non-slip paint. I can't find that anywhere now, can anyone tell me which thread it is on this forum?

These boats didn't come from the factory with non-skid paint. Instead, they had a pointed, diamond pattern molded into the deck surface to provide a grip against your shoes. Any non-skid paint was applied by a previous owner and is usually done after the diamond pattern is sanded flat. If that is the case, mechanical removal with a sander is in order. Most paint removers will damage the epoxy binder of the fiberglass.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I can still see the diamond pattern, it just covered with lots of layers of flaking paint in different colours.

There is a guy on here who posted pictures of his boat after he used a product to remove all of the paint from the patterned areas. He did a great job, but I can't find that thread now...

Can anyone on here point me to the post? They guy had his boat in a workshop and had stripped all the non-slip areas, before he repainted it again.
