Removing Galley Faucet

Does anyone have a picture, or a picturesque desription of how the galley faucet on an h27 is removed?
It's hard to see up in there, so I don't know if it's held on by a standard faucet nut or something else.

Is it necessary to remove the vanity top to get it out?
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure both galley and vanity fixtures are held by nuts. You may have to locate and work them by feel rather than sight. Not sure which fixture you are inquiring about but the galley faucet may perhaps have easier access through the cockpit lazarette. Would not remove the counter or vanity tops.

I'll give that a try.

Easiest way to remove is with a basin wrench. Lets you reach the faucet nut behind the basin.

I've got one I bought specifically for this job, but haven't tried it yet. I reached up in there, but couldn't feel a nut. Will try again on Wed. Thanks

Not sure how similar but on my H37C I had to remove the basin. It wasn't possible to remove the hose connections or the faucet nuts.

Hmmmm...

If I get to it this evening, I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Should be a nice cool 106* inside the cabin!

I replaced mine on my 31. It had two plastic nuts with thumb screws holding it on the counter, and two Pex pipe fittings for the pipes.

One of my Pex fittings was cracked and leaking.

Well, it wasn't 106* only 94*!

In case anyone needs it, here's a short pictorial on getting the faucet off.

There is a pvc pipe about 6" long that the water supply line connects to and goes up into the faucet. There is no nut holding this to the underside of the counter, just a plastic compression nut for the supply line. You'll find that none of these fancy, high priced plumbers tools will do the job.

This is the correct tool for this job

In fact, if you've got gorilla hands, you might not need a tool at all. Once the nut is off, pull up on the knob like this.image.jpg
There's a little white pin that holds the knob to the spindle. Pull it out to take the knob off.

Now comes the tricky part. Pull and yank and pry with all you might to break the faucet body free of whatever adhesive is holding it to the countertop. When, after 15 mins of cursing and sweating you are about to give up and break out the grinder, do this...
image.jpg
The body lifts off to reveal this!
image.jpg
Surprise! Surprise! Who'd a foreseen that one? Next step should be obvious, or you should not be allowed to use tools

Only thing left to do is this
