I have a small leak coming from the fuel pump on my h335. Its impossible to reach I believe without I remove the engine. Does anyone have any idea how long it would take me to remove it then re-install. I plan on building a set of rails that would extend into the cabin and just sliding the engine forward.

I have a 1990 Hunter 33.5 which I have done extensive work on the Yanmar 2GM20F diesel. The fuel pump, I believe, is on the front of the engine. You shouldn't have to remove the entire engine. Also, at least on models close to 1990, within 20 minutes you can dis-assemble most of the teak cabinetry housing the engine. This gives you easier access to most of the engine.

Call a mechanic before your R/R your engine

Colin: I would call a Yanmar mechanic and have him perform the work before I would R/R the engine. Even if you do this yourself, you will need to re-align it too. I am betting that having the correct tools and doing this before will make the job much easier than you may perceive.

I Replaced the fuel pump

I have a 93 33.5 and had oil coming from the fuel pump.. I was able to replace it myself, without removing the engine... Just have 2 copper washers on hand or just pay someone to do it.. it took about 2 hours. Nonlinear
