Removing Cutlass Bearing

Greetings Vegans:
I'm about to bite the bullet and install a conventional gearbox, and remove the Combi.
Is there any trick to remove the cutlass bearing in the prop-shaft log?

Peter;
why not keep the existing bearing and stuffing box, but get a 25 mm
shaft! I did
that and I couldn't be happier.

Actually, I prefer the term "VEGAtarians", originally coined, I believe, by Brian Hofler. To me "Vegans" means those radical anti-meat people, or maybe aliens from another planet. d;^)
