Removing a mast step...help....

After discovering a leak in the cabin coming THROUGH the compression post, we took off the mast and I am cleaning and planning on resealing everything. But, I am unable to remove the mast step (picture). All 4 screws are out, but the step is not budging... Any tricks and/or suggestions?

I guess I'd go after it with a flat bar and commence to gently prying it up if I determined that it was somehow glued down.

This makes me very happy I did not bed my step with 5200.

If it is too stuck you can get a tile scraper and big hammer.

Heat gun may help also.
