Remove insulator from injector mixing chamber

Anyone have any tips here? I’ve been scratching at it for about 30 minutes now. Can’t get the insulator to unseat. Thinking maybe better to just pick up new mixing chamber tops for $14 each and call it a day.

Thought maybe there was some sort of magic trick to get the thing out. Just bought the new ones.

First I filled the hole with a paper towel to keep debris from dropping down the injector housing. Then just used a variety of picks till it came out. Then vacuumed out the hole….. patience and a few beers!
