Does anyone know how to remove the daggerboard? I've never had a manual for my 26D. I want to lift it up and out to do some faring but I'm not sure where to disconnect it. Thanks, George
Bill, I don't see how that can be true. If I try to lift it out, there is still someting holding it...maybe a safety line.Whatever is keeping it from coming up out of the opening on deck must be the same thing that keeps it from falling out the bottom of the hull.Anything else you can think of? Thanks, George
The daggerboard has two ropes attached to it. One rope is to keep it from falling out the bottom of the hull and the other rope is used to raise and lower it. The daggerboard trunk is the same size at the top and the bottom. If the opening at the deck is not obstructed then it is either jammed against the trailer or you have debris in the trunk as I did preventing it from coming out. By the way, I have all the original books for my boat. If you want copies I will email them to you. My email is billt3322@excite.com
Just pulled my dagger board out today. The daggerboard has two lines attached.Remove the stopknots from the lines and pull them through there fairleads toward the dagger board.Pull the daggerboard straight up.It may help to have someone below kind of wiggle it, if it catches on the lip at the deck.
