I saw this on YouTube and found it fascinating how the US Navy had one of their ships removed from a reef in the Philippines.
Wonder if the kids in Florida had to do the same?

:wow3: Only two and a half months from grounding to clean up, if I heard that right. And it takes us years to get rid of derelict small vessels in our waters. Thanks for the vid.

In The Battle of the Coral Sea the USS Lexington CV-2 [second carrier] was Lost, but now she was found.
This was a best article [From Australian news] with a video of her final hours.

The Battle interdicted the Japanese invasion plans of Australia.

The badly damaged USS Yorktown CV-5 returned to Pearl Harbor for repair. Rapid return/repair to Pearl Harbor, she set back to sea with contractors aboard and was lost in The Battle of Midway. That battle is considered one of 15 most Decisive Battles in World History. The repair delay actually made the Yorktown a decoy, thus confusing the Japanese , who thought she was sunk in The Battle of Coral Sea.
The USS Enterprise CV-6 and USS Hornet CV-8 , were never detected in time.
