I have a 2005 H33 and while the folding table is great when we are docked, it's a pain when we are sailing. How can I remove it, store it, and replace it when needed?
I had a vision of sawing the tube, fitting an internal tube inside which would slip into a fitting at the base, wife gave me one of those 'are you out of your mind looks".
Thanks in advance.

I'd have to agree with your wife, cutting the tube that you use as a handhold would be a less than totally bright idea IMHO. There are quick connect fittings that attach just about anything you can screw a wood screw into to to pipe. I'm kinda supprized you don't have these already, I know my folding table came with them.

Not familiar with your boat but in some models that tube also serves as the compression post for the mast. Does the table slide up and down on the tube? If it does one thing you could do is to drill a trough hole farther up in the tube and raise the table until it hits the cabin ceiling and the put a pin in the hole to keep it up there. We did that in our h320 and can now walk under or seat below the table.

Benny - he is discussing table in the cockpit - sounds like you are talking about table in the salon (mast compression post). Paul - agree with Bill, would look for the fittings.

It's the folding table in the cockpit, it backs up to the pedestal, and runs fore to aft. We were out yesterday with another couple and its just hard to menuever around. There was not much wind and we didn't have to tack much but when we didit seemed we were in each others way.
I noticed that some of the Catalinas have a table that folds up against the pedestal and is our of the way. It's not two bad when I'm sailing with my weekend group who are used to dodging each other.
Well can't have everthing, it's great for snacks when we are in our slip
