Relocating haylard from genoa to chute position

With the addition of CDI furler to my WB 19, I can now consider flying a chute. What is the procedure and tricks to relocating the genoa halyard above the forestay keyhole in the mast? Do I need to pull the top mast casting or is it just a matter of drilling out the old inside block, drilling new poprivet holes and line exit holes above the forestay keyhole, and sliding everything up?

I did the same thing you are talking about on my H240 that is equiped with a CDI furler. Drill the existing block for the jib halyard and reattach it above the furler. No sense in adding an additional halyard. dont need it pluse extra cost. I did order an identical block from ZSPAR to fill the void of the one I moved. I think it was about $10-$15.

Dick; Your mast is a Z-spar. See if you have a turning block above the forestay attachment and advise. If you do, then use a snake to run a messenger line down the mast. It would be helpful that the mast is at an angle to allow for better flow downhill of the messenger line in the mast. If you do not have one, then advise and I will tell you where to go for the turning block. Crazy Dave
