Anyone have any thoughts/experience/knowledge of the reliability of the wind predictions on the NWS Graphical Forecast page (link below)? I'm trying to juggle commitments for the weekend, and still get some sailing in. According to them, Sunday looks to be the better day on the Chesapeake.

Wind on the Bay

I've looked at the NWS site you included and have it "generally" about right. I tend to use the real time data from Thomas Pt or the other CBOS buoys. You may also want to try "Sail Flow" (link below) which is the old "iWindsurf" site. "Sail Flow" seems more accurate, IMHO

Wind Conditions in Puget Sound

I enjoy checking out Oustide Connection for it's graphic interface. Note this site doesn't show predictions but rather existing conditions, so it might not be that useful for your needs. However, I think it's fun to see at a glance what the wind is doing in Puget Sound. Best, Trevor

More Weather Observations

Here's another Puget Sound weather observation site - realtime info from the cross sound ferries. Clicking on the highlighted boxes will give more detailed information on windspeed and direction on the various ferry routes across the sound.

Thanks for the link to sailflow. Lot's of good info, but it looks like it could take a little exploring to figure out the interface. I went ahead and did the free registration. I'm primarily interested in forecasts maybe a day or two in advance. I'm always trying to juggle my weekends, and if the wind's gonna be blowing, I may need to come up with an excuse for bagging out on something else.
