The refrigeration is working however when I turn on the refrigerator sea water pump switch at the Nav station the motor makes a loud shricking sound. I found where the motor is installed and I've been able to remove most of the panels on the setee except for the backrest portion of wood. There are 3 wood screws at the base where it meets the top of the setee portion but they don't screw into anything yet I can't figure out how to remove that last piece to get full access to the pump. Anybody know the trick and also the make and model number of the pump?

Pump may be airbound

That symptom suggests that the pump just needs to be primed. One way to do that is to put a T in the hose just downstream of the strainer. Then with a hand pump just pump some water into the line to the pump. Then close the T, open the seacock and turn on the pump. Allan

No water in the pump

Before putting a T in the line as suggested, take the line off the sea cock and make sure the water can flow freely. I have jad this clogged up with marine life. You can clean that with a wire hanger: an old sailing tool.! The next step would be the strainer then the pipe tjat goes to the pump. I have removed the settee seat platform by removing all the screws and sliding it forward there was no need to remove the back rest.My boat is a 376/1997. Hopes that will help.

Replacement

My refrigerator water pump is under the sole just aft of the galley sink stand. It is a small pump attached to a small pump motor. Mine failed early this season and I replaced the motor. I tried the usual, including a soft hammer blow - this started the motor. The 2000 H380 has the Grunert Polarmate installed. The water pump is a March P800 available from Ocean Systems in Annapolis. I am sure there are other distributors around the country. Anyway, it cost me $242 for a new pump. It works great and is much quieter that the original.

no water in the pump

What I have done is unscrew the stainer with the sea cock open and I do get water flow, what I haven't checked is going back the other way. Thanks
