Refrigerator Cooling Water Pump

The cooling water pump on my 1998 Hunter 410 was replace with a POS that keeps tripping off the line. What was the original pump? Specs?

My 2000 Hunter 420 originally came with a water cooled unit. It was a Grunert Polarmate which is now part of Dometic and the pump that was used was a 12 vdc March 893-001-04. Chances are yours is the same.
Is it the pump or something else in the unit that causes the unit to trip?

Thanks Mike. My frig is also a Grunert/Domestic. The replacement pump installed by the prior owner is not able to overcome the pressure head and the input/output lines are 1/4" where the original was more like 5/8". Thanks again for the informatio - it is a big help.

I've got a 2000 Hunter 410 with a Grunnert refrig compressor. A March pump came with my boat from the factory. I've also owned a 1998 Hunter 410 with the same compressor and pump. Both came with a water pump with brushes and a warranty of 3,000 hours. After talking with an engineer at March Pumps I found they make a compatible pump without brushes. The 893-09 pump is about $70. more than the pump with brushes but the warranty is extended to 50,000 hours. They use epoxy magnetics instead of brushes. March doesn't sell them direct.
