Just noticed that my refrigerator was not keeping things cool on our 1993 Hunter 35.5. I have not spent much time trouble shooting yet, but thought I would post to see if there is some ready advice. I have done the basics - compressor appears to be running (I can hear it), played with temp settings - no noticable change. Suspect it needs a Freon re-charge. Does this sound right, and is there any advice on likely suppliers of this service on a boat? Thanks!

Are you sure?

Are you sure the compressor is running? It may just be the fan you hear. Do you know how many amps it's drawing? If not available, disconnect one of the fan wires and place your hand on the compressor. Let me know so we can trouble shoot either the electrical or refrigerant path.

Service dealer

Jon, There's an excellent service dealer in Alameda, Anderson Refrigeration. They can be reached at 510-521-3111, You'll likely get his voice mail which will state he'll return your call "within 10 minutes". He will.

Jon Gary's right. He sent me to Carl two years ago, great guy, very helpful and prompt. You can't go wrong. Tell him I said "Hi," he got me a replacement fan motor, I pu it in myself, works like a charm, and Gary helped me diagnose the problem. Wonderful people to deal with. Carl's on Bay Farm Island and came over to meet me at Marina Village (we're in Grand). Stu
