Refrigeration for original icebox 1980 Hunter 30

I would like to add a low cost (relatively) refrigeration unit to my Hunter 30's original icebox what do I need to consider when doing this? Will the original factory insulation do the job? Any help to include estimated cost of unit would be appreciated. --Clarke B. Rudd "Bad Habit"

New system

I am not aware of the box size for your boat so I can not really tell you which system and if the insulation is proper. What we always recommend is 3" of polyurethane insulation. If you can check the sides of the box to see approximately the thickness of the insulation we could start from their. The system to use will most likely be the ColdMachine as if I remember the Hunter 30 is a large box. I will see if I can find some more data on the box for you. What year is your boat?
