I am purchasing a Hunter 37.5 and want to install refrigeration. I am thinking about the Adler Barbour Cold Machine but don't know which evaporator to get and where to install it. Can anyone provide suggestions? Mike

Large...

Is the ice box now 2 separate compartments? I have a '93 37.5 and replaced the mess that came with the boat with an AB large evap. I have it mounted on the forward side of the box, basically mid-way of the two overhead doors. Tubes go out a hole the bottom starboard corner of the box, into the dinette seat, then over to the compressor which is located under the seat along the port side of the boat. Pretty easy install. I want to separate the two compartments, create a freezer section to starboard, and the refer to port. Just haven't figured out how to divide the sections, or rather, haven't spent the time do figure it out.

For what it is worth...

Find something with a low amp draw.. Our fridge on our 380 is by the far the biggest amp user at 80-100 a day depending on use/temp etc.. The high effciancy units are pretty expensive, but when you consider running the engine, solar panels, large battery banks.... if I were starting over I would definetly spend the extra bucks for one of them...
