My 2002 B361 has a 12 volt Adler/Barbour system with the cold plate in the freezer compartment. Then, there is a thermostatically controlled 12 volt fan that pumps cold air from the freezer compartment into the refrigerator. There is one breaker that controls both the Adler/Barbour and the thermostatic fan. Some days, I'd like to put gobs of ice in the freezer and turn on the thermostatic fan to the refrig, but not run the compressor (to save battery power and prevent the heat output from the compressor from heating the cabin). Has anyone separated these circuits for this purpose?

My Adler-Barbour unit has separate controls - I can turn off the evaporator in the freezer with a dial control there, and keep the reefer fan running with it's own control. In fact this allows seamless defrosting while keeping the fresh food cold. The DC breaker must remain on to keep the fan operational.

Gunni,
Very helpful, Thanks. I can easily rewire my "spillover" fan to be on a separate circuit from the condenser so that I can operate them independently.
I hadn't thought about the benefit during defrosting. I've been emptying the fridge!
