My '84 Catalina 30 is in need of an entire interior cushion refit. It is dated and the foam smells like it has been in a boat for 22 years. My wife has allergies and it is almost impossible for her to spend the night in the boat without suffering for the next few days with allergy problems. Has anyone replaced their cushions and where is the best place to have the work done? At one time I got a quote for replacements, but I can't remember the vendor. I need help. Thanks-Tony

New Cushions

You would be surprised to find that Catalina yachts makes repacement cushions. If you have had a quote from a upolstery shop they can range from 2000 to 6000 depending on how custom you wish to go. I had a local do the upolstery and all cushions in my 80 C-30 for 2500, and was able to pick my foam density that way. But afterward found that if you order from the factory it is not that bad expense wise. you can call and get a quote from the factory at 1-818-884-7700. Happy sailing!!!!!,John

Catalina Suprising Affordable

I just had cockpit cushions made at half the after market cost (Catalina was $401 - this website was $750 for either type). They make everything and have all the patterns - you just supply the hull number. At least get a quote from Chris in parts before contracting with outside shop. Let us know how it comes in also.
