My 1975 Hunter 25 wood floor is in need of refinishing It looks like there was polyurathane on it at one time....Is that the case. Can I safely poly the floor and not have to worry about warping? ThanksDan
I refinished a floor a couple of years ago, but I cannot specifically answer your question. I did want to make the point that the teak and holley floor on most boats is a laminate. It may be very thin, like 1/8 inch thick. Just a word of caution to check this before you start using an electric sander or some type of scraper. You may go right through it.good luck.John
I used poly on my 25.5 after the hatch stayed open through the winter( long story; packer party, alcohol, and kids), and it worked quite well. John is right in advising not to get real serious with the sander though. I went through the veneer to create a few light spots in my attempts to get rid of some water stains.
