The wood paneling in the companionway, leading down to the cabin, in our 1999 H340 has begun to fad and looks dry. I would like to bring back some of the luster, and protect the wood. Has anyone tried to treat the wood bulkheads? Are you happy with the results? What product did you use? Thanks in advance. Paul Borchardt H340 Padozary

Lemon Oil

The Captain applies Lemon oil per recommendation from Hunter. It smells nice, protects and provides a nice gloss without making the wood dark. I have also been told that coconut oil is good. Don't use teak oiul as it will make wood darker.

Dalys Seafin Teak Oil

We have been using Dalys Seafin teak oil, as recommended in our hunter 35.5 / 1991documentation, and all interior wood work still looks new. We apply ont coat a year during our spring clean up and always get very positive comments on the look of the finish. Good luck

lemon oil

I agree with the lemon oil. I have tried different oils, but this seems to be one of the best. I have found it best to apply with a foam brush, and to wipe off the excess in 5/10 minutes. good luck

Dalys Seafin

I used Dalys Seafin for the interior teak, on my newly purchased '97 310, it made it look new again. Simple to use, just wipe on with a cloth. Something you may want to do twice a season to keep a "brand-new" look. Also, used Dalys Profin for the floors, made them look showroom new. Both products are used by Hunter at the factory. Contact Dalys at 800 735-7019. Good luck!

Sikkens Cetol Marine

Six years ago I finished the entire interior, including the floor boards and steps, of my 1991 h28 with Sikkens and it has kept it looking brand new ever since. The directions recommend three coats but since I was doing the interior I decided to try one coat to see how it held up. Other than touching up a few scratches it has held up very well and has been been vitually maintenance free. The steps are the only area that is starting to show any wear and I will probably redo them sometime this year.

Phil, why not carry Dalys on HOW?

Hunter uses it, people talk about and praise it all the time on this website, but it's hard to find outside of Seatle. I'd think the Daly's folks would be happy to have an on-line distribution with HOW and it seems like a natural fit.

Olde English

Try Olde English Furniture Polish. Not only will it revitalize the wood, but it takes out scratches. Give it a whirl.

We've got a call into Daly's

And we'll see what we can do. I'll post an update to this thread next week.
