Refinishing teak/holly sole H33.5 - use stripper?

Hi all,
Bit by bit getting my 1989 H33.5 in shape. The teak/holly soles look dull, don't think they have been coated in a while. I bought some Daly Profin which I know is the OEM coating. But it looks like the old coating is still on there and I am having trouble sanding it off. Progress seems slow even with 120 grit paper. I have heard the veneer is super thin so also don't want to sand too much. My question is, should I go get a urethane stripper like from Home Depot, or just go ahead with the 120 for what it's worth and then apply the new Profin over whatever coating is left. If the new coating smooths over the older coating, and I will end up sanding between coats, there might not be much benefit to completely stripping the old coating odd.
Thanks for any guidance.

Much of that dullness may be ground in dirt. I just refinished our boats sole by this method. ...
Remove sole to work on it out of boat.
Scrub with stiff brush using dawn detergent, 1/3 bleach and some TSP. Rinse really well.
Repeat.
At this point the holly should look white again.
Sand with 120 to 220 grit VERY lightly.
Finish with the coating of your choice.
Came out looking new. Be careful removing the wood bungs covering the screws. Work slowly to not damage the sole veneer. The po used way too many screws so I only refastned with haft the number, will make the job easier next time.
Good luck.

I removed the varnish/cetol from all my interior teak using Citristrip with great results. It's the orange stuff. I just painted it on and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I took a thin stiff putty knife and scraped it off. I let it dry and did a light sanding.

What Kito said, but VERY light sanding that is a thin veneer. I did put three coats of a West System epoxy on first, then three coats of Petitt 1015, in part because I replace a good portion of the old sole.
