All:

Looking for advice on replacing teak hand / grab rails on C-25.

Mine are severely weathered . What's involved in removing / replacing?

If a refinish is in order, any suggested product advice would be appreicated.

Also:

Considering new teak rails from Catalina Direct, heard that getting them to fit is a bit difficult. Any feedback would be greatly appreicated.

When we did the rebuild on our C-22, we went with the plastic Starboard handrails.

Nice clean look, maintenance free, and FAR cheaper. Personal preference I guess.

We had no trouble installing them, take your time and it is pretty easy.

FWIW, we bought 4 loop handrails from a local shop for 30 bucks each.

When have since sold the 22 and bought a 27, and the Admiral wants to go with Stainless Steel if/when we replace the Teak handrails...

Bob,
I would first try to renew with two part teak cleaner as directed. Pressure washer can take too much of the soft wood out. Sanding can then take the high parts of the weatherd wood down to the softer "part".
It's not too hard and you might be surprised how good they may look! If not or you wish for the less maint look the plastic ones may be the ticket!
