Trying to figure how to coat under bunkers. Would it be possible to crank trailer jack all the way down and put a padded support under the stern and brace it up? Then crank trailer jack all the way up and do the same in front of bunkers and let it down enough to coat hull?

Dick, Yes the boat can be raised by/on the trailer

I think that doing the job with the trailer jack alone might be too tough of a job. Since the trailer is a dual axle you know that the axles and tongue hold/support all the load of the boat upon the bunks. Soooo.....what I would do is borrow as many floor jacks as possible from all your buddies and raise the trailer basically in a modified 3 point stance, using 5 points. If you raise both axles at their most outboard point (the widest portion of the axle beam your jack pad can be safely put under)(4 points) and put 1 jack up at the trailer tongue. In essence you are just raising the entire boat and trailer just as they set on the ground. Once up about 1 and 1/2 foot or so then block up the entire boat with strong cribbage and spreaders awthwart ships that support the contures of the bottom. Use supporting blocks at the rear (the last 2 feet of the H26 appear to be the strongest part of the boat bottom)and in 3 more points as you work forward on each side. Then paint, move the dunnage and paint the rest. I would use large pads where supporting the boat and would try strongly to keep the pads on the outward edge of the ballast tank, if not totally outside the tank. Stay away from the centerboard housing. Be sure the pads follow the shape and slope of the boat bottom. While up, think about dropping the centerboard and replacing the haul line. It's fairly easy at this time. I will be doing the same to my boat in the next 3 weeks. Who ever goes first should contact the other. I do have the set-up to do this and must on my boat, so if you can wait that long I'll let you know how to do. My E-mail is on this site. Ray S/v Speedy
