how can i reef the main sail on the day sailer. the manual said to roll the sail around the boom but that interfears with the main sheet.

Reefing the Mainsail
If you had a tang at the end of your boom for your main sheet attachment, you could probably reef the sail by rolling it. Otherwise, you would need to buy an attachment called a claw which would fit over the boom and rolled up sail. I'd be very leery about using a rig like that, myself. If your Mainsail is in great condition, your best bet would be to bring it to a sail maker and have him install reefing points. Then you could rig it with Jiffy reefing. Joe
